Abstract:

Objective To construct the early progressive resistance exercise program for the non-hemiplegic side in ischemic stroke patients and evaluate its effects. Methods Through literature research and expert consultation, the progressive resistance exercise program of non-hemiplegic side in the early stage of ischemic stroke patients was constructed. A total of 70 patients with ischemic stroke hemiplegia who were hospitalized in two wards of the Department of Neurology from December 2023 to August 2024 in a Grade-III first-class hospital in Hunan Province were selected. There were 35 cases in each group according to the coin toss method. The control group received routine rehabilitation training, and the experimental group received early progressive resistance exercise intervention on the non-hemiplegic side on the basis of interventions in the control group. Balance ability,self-care ability, walking function, bilateral grip strength, lower limb muscle strength, muscle index and bone density were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the balance ability score of experimental group was higher than that of control group(Z=-3.060,P=0.002). Self-care ability, walking function, bilateral grip strength, muscle index and bone density were higher than those of control group(P<0.05),and the time of 5 sit-stand tests was shorter than that of control group(P<0.05). Conclusion The early progressive resistance exercise for the non-hemiplegic side is beneficial to improve balance, mobility, muscle strength, muscle index and bone density in hemiplegic patients with ischemic stroke.
