Perioperative nursing of 7 infants with pharyngeal hairy polyps

Abstract: To summarize the perioperative nursing experience of 7 infants with pharyngeal hairy polyps. In view of hypoxemia,respiratory symptoms,difficulty in feeding and regurgitation,postoperative nursing problems,the key points of nursing included:promptly correcting the hypoxemia by managing nasal high-flow humidifying oxygen therapy; keeping the unobstructed of respiratory tract and implementing airway clearance therapy; development support of infants which included adequate nutritional support,actively preventing reflux and aspiration,practicing infant-driven feeding to improve the nutritional status; preventing and managing complications of pharyngeal incisions,emphasizing oral care and continuous care for discharged children. After intensive care and precise management,all children were cured and discharged at 3~7 days postoperatively. During the follow-up,all the patients obtained high quality rehabilitation effect without recurrence of hairy polyps.
