Abstract: To summarize the nursing care experience for a patient with facial onset sensory and motor neuronopathy. According to the characteristics of type Ⅱ respiratory failure in this patient,multi-disciplinary team cooperation was adopted and noninvasive ventilator was used to correct respiratory failure. Nurses accurately evaluated swallowing function,did a good job in oral hygiene after eating,and implemented measures to prevent aspiration and asphyxia,so as to deal with the risk of aspiration and other risks that may be caused because the patient refused to retain a gastric tube. In view of the rarity of the disease and the patient's wrong cognition and anxiety about the disease,nurses provided personalized list health education,guided the patient to actively deal with the disease. Internet plus online service was also provided for long-term follow-up management. After 7 days of careful nursing,the patient's symptoms were improved and discharged. After 3 months of follow-up after discharge,the patient's symptoms were stable,and there were no adverse events such as aspiration and aspiration pneumonia.
