Objective To explore the experience of anesthesia nurses using the difficult airway information management system(DAIMS) and to provide recommendations for its optimization and widespread implementation. Methods Phenomenological method in qualitative research was adopted,an interview outline was developed based on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use from the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 anesthesia nurses at a tertiary class A hospital in Zhejiang Province. Colaizzi’s seven-step analysis method was used to analyze the interview data. Results The user experience of the DAIMS among anesthesia nurses can be categorized into 3 themes and 7 sub-themes:perceived usefulness(identification and early warning of airway risks, optimization of nursing workflows),barriers to usability(subjectivity in the assessment process, absence of risk stratification prompts, lack of physiological symptom assessment),and behavioral intentions (positive acceptance, enhancement of out-of-hospital support functions). Conclusion Anesthesia nurses hold a positive and optimistic attitude toward the DAIMS. However, continuous improvements are needed to optimize airway assessment functionality, risk stratification prompts, and the evaluation and early warning of physiological symptoms. Furthermore, strengthening follow-up and health education support functions would improve the system’s usability.
