Nursing care of skull base osteonecrosis complicated with invasive aspergillosis after radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Abstract

To summarize the nursing experience of a patient with skull base osteonecrosis complicated with invasive aspergillosis after radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC). The main points of nursing care included early warning and risk pre-control management of nasopharynx massive hemorrhage,sodium bicarbonate nasal irrigation combined with systemic antifungal therapy to control aspergillus infection,the target energy oriented nutritional support strategy,early swallowing rehabilitation exercise to reduce the patient’s choking. After 26 days of active treatment and careful nursing,the patient recovered and was discharged.
