Abstract:

To summarize the nursing experience of one patient with extremely severe cervical kyphosis secondary to neurofibromatosis type 1 complicated with epilepsy who underwent combined anterior and posterior cervical spine surgery. In view of the nursing difficulties such as great difficulty in preoperative traction, high risk of acute epileptic seizures, and easy occurrence of neck hematoma and airway obstruction, precise nursing for skull-pelvic ring gravity traction was implemented before the operation,a “three-dimensional” protection system for epilepsy was established, and proactive risk prevention and control during the perioperative period were well done. After surgery, measures such as standardized airway crisis early warning management, early identification of neck hematoma, combined with goal-oriented analgesia and personalized resistance training programs, and stepwise collaborative prevention and control of complications were adopted. After 18 days of individualized treatment and nursing, the patient successfully recovered and was discharged from the hospital, with good recovery during follow-up.
