Abstract: Health-related quality of life refers to the extent to which an individual‘s usual or desired physical, mental, and social well-being is affected by an illness or its treatment. This paper reviews the research benefits, assessment tools, current status and key nursing points of health-related quality of life in adult extracorporeal membrane oxygenation survivors, and proposes that healthcare professionals should concern the influence of in-hospital traumatic experience,out-of-hospital adverse symptoms and psychosocial problems on survivors, and make full use of supportive resources such as the family or develop personalized nursing plans. Health-related quality of life is an important prognostic indicator for survivors, but specific assessment tools and interventions need to be further improved.
