Summary of the best evidence for acute pain management in patients with traumatic limb fractures

Abstract: Objective To search and evaluate the evidence of acute pain management in patients with traumatic fracture of limbs,and to provide reference for clinical practice. Methods By using evidence-based nursing method,the authors formulated questions on the management of acute pain in patients with traumatic fracture of limbs,and searched relevant literature,used the literature evaluation standard and evidence grading system of Australian Joanna Briggs Institute(JBI) Evidence-based Health Care Center to evaluates the literature quality and evidence grade of all kinds of research. Results A total of 30 articles were included,including 18 clinical decisions,6 guidelines,4 best practices,and 2 evidence summaries,31 pieces of evidence were summarized from 6 aspects including education and training,pain assessment,fixation,non-pharmacological pain relief,pharmacological pain relief,health education. Conclusion This study summarized the best evidence of acute pain management in patients with traumatic fractures of the extremities,and provides evidence for nursing staff to manage acute pain in patients with traumatic fractures of the extremities.
