Research progress and enlightenment on health-related quality of life in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survivors

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest(OHCA) survivors’ health-related quality of life(HRQoL) refers to survivors’ perceptions and evaluations of their health status resulting from the cardiac arrest event and subsequent resuscitation, encompassing physical, psychological, and social adaptation domains. Currently, research on the HRQoL of survivors in China remains relatively limited, and the localized rehabilitation intervention system has yet to be perfected. Therefore, this article reviews international research advancements in the measurement tools and applicability, changes, and determinants of HRQoL among OHCA survivors. Additionally,it proposes three strategic directions for nursing research that integrate both current practical guidance and future development directions, namely developing disease-specific assessment tools, conducting predictive modeling research, and establishing intelligent digital rehabilitation frameworks. This is aimed at expanding related research in China and enhancing HRQoL outcomes for cardiac arrest survivors.
