Objective To construct and evaluate a checklist for aspiration prevention strategies for painless gastrointestinal endoscopy diagnosis and treatment. Methods Based on the evidence from the literature and the clinical data analysis,we constructed aspiration prevention strategies checklist for painless gastrointestinal endoscopy diagnosis and treatment. The checklist was used to clinically observe patients who underwent painless gastrointestinal endoscopy in our center from July to December 2021. The incidence and duration of hypoxemia in patients with painless gastrointestinal endoscopy,the proportion of patients requiring emergency airway management,the incidence of adverse events,patient satisfaction and medical team satisfaction were compared before and after the application of the checklist. Results There were two rounds of expert consultation in this study. The checklist for aspiration prevention strategy of painless gastrointestinal endoscopy diagnosis and treatment included 9 items,and the W coordination coefficients of the two rounds of expert opinion were 0.715 and 0.730 respectively. After using the checklist,the incidence of hypoxemia was significantly reduced in patients undergoing painless gastrointestinal endoscopy,the duration of hypoxemia was reduced. The ratio of patients requiring emergency airway management was significantly reduced. The incidence of aspiration or severe laryngospasm requiring drug adjuvant therapy decreased,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The application of the checklist can improve the implementation of aspiration prevention measures in the diagnosis and treatment of painless gastrointestinal endoscopy. It is conducive to improve the medical safety of patients with painless gastrointestinal endoscopy.
