The influence of structured nursing team on emergency outcomes inpatients with extracorporeal cardiopulmonaryresuscitation in emergency department

Abstract:

Objective To investigate the effect of emergency structured nursing team in extracorporeal cardiopul-monary resuscitation(ECPR). Methods 56 nurses in the emergency department of our hospital were divided into 7structured ladder teams, and completed the training and assessment. Retrospective analysis of 12 extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation patients treated in the emergency department from August 2018 to December 2019 sincethe implementation of the structured nursing team. Clinical data included general information , patient diagnosis , materialpreparation time , pipeline pre-filling time , patient cardiacarrest to extracorporeal membrane oxy ge nation( ECMO) establishment time , ECMO support time , weaning and prognosis of patents and so on. ResultsAfter theimplementation of the structured nursing team model ,the total time from cardiac arrest to ECMO establishment was reduced from 1.5 hours to 24 minutes at the fas test , emergency department length of stay was reduced from 4.5 hours to 1.5 hours. Conclusion Emergency structured nursing team can reduce the time from cardiac arrest to ECMO establishment and the emergency department length of stay.
